What We Believe
Statement of Faith
We affirm that Jesus is the Christ, the son of the living God. That He was born of a virgin, taking on human flesh. Come to demonstrate the sacrificial love of God by dying for those abiding in sin. Come to be the spotless lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. Fully God and fully man. Come to reveal the purposes of God, whose divine will is that none should perish but that all should come to repentance. Whose desire is not the condemnation of the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. We believe Christ Jesus has come to author and extend abundant life.
We believe that all have sinned. That there is no one righteous apart from salvation through Christ Jesus alone. That man's best attempts at righteousness, apart from the righteousness purchased in Christ Jesus, are filthy rags, and that all are saved by grace.
We believe that all who confess with their mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in their heart that God raised Him from the dead shall be saved.
We believe that all, having made this profession of faith, ought to partake of Baptism, as a sacred and covenantal act. That by doing so they are voluntarily dying to their flesh, though the earthly body remains alive. That by symbolically partaking of the death of Christ, and, being risen from the waters of baptism, they now also partake of the resurrection life of Jesus.
We believe that the same Spirit who raised Jesus from the dead, the very Spirit of God Himself, is poured out as a gift and a seal from our risen Savior to those whose hope and trust are in Him. That the Church is comprised of those who, by grace and repentance through Jesus, receive this Spirit. That this same spirit equips the members of Christ's body, the Church, with a variety of gifts to build up and strengthen that body. That this Spirit empowers the body of Christ for the working of ministry. That this Holy Spirit is a comforter from the Lord, who understands the mind of the Father and prays on our behalf, according to the wisdom that surpasses our understanding.
We believe that God the Father is one (in mysterious union) with Jesus the son and the Holy Spirit. That He is the creator, the maker of all things. That He is the most high, worthy of all worship and praise. We believe that He is wholly undefiled by sin, perfect in holiness and perfect in love. We believe that scripture reveals He delights in relationship to mankind, as a Father delights in his children, and desires the restoration of rebellious sons and daughters.
We believe Scripture is the inspired word of God. We believe that God's Spirit, who inspired its authorship, is necessary for it's benefits to be fully realized.
We believe God is the same, in the glorious truth of His divine character, yesterday, today and forevermore.
We are a non-denominational church.
We honor all those who, by faith and obedience to the Lordship of Jesus, love the Lord their God with all their heart, with all their soul, and with all their mind — and who press on to love their neighbor as themselves.
